FAQ

How will you support my child in your classroom?

My goal in teaching is to make sure to be the teacher that care. If your student is struggling, has things that could make them have problems with learning (any learning disorders), has things happening that could influence their performance in my class, has many obligations (sports, arts, etc), I want to know! I use this knowledge to form my class around what helps my students, so the more I know the more I can help. I also give many opportunities to talk to students about if they are struggling, and want them to succeed.

What are your qualifications to teach?

All of my experience can be found under my Resume/Experience tab on this website. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences, and attend professional development events as often as I can. This is to help me be the best teacher I can be for your student.

How do I contact you if I have a question or an issue?

Above is a contact me section. Feel free to fill that out to contact me. You also can send me an email directly at rebecca.e.loncar@gmail.com
I encourage parents and guardians to talk with me if any clarification or questions need to be discussed. As said before, I want your student to succeed and it takes a village to do so.

Do you do anything besides teach?

Through the summers I am a full-time camp director. I also am a DECA advisor for students, and work with groups to help students succeed. I enjoy travelling when I can take the time to do so, but my heart is in teaching and my camp so those are always my main priority.

Behavior Policy

Your student(s) are accountable for their actions. I expect them to be respectful and responsible. Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. If I hear about students bullying, you will be contacted and I will be checking to see if your student is bullying. If I hear slurs of any kind in my classroom there will be consequences. Students will be given a warning about this but if it happens repeatedly they will be held accountable. Food and drink are allowed in my classroom, however students must clean up after themselves, and be weary of allergies. Students should aim to be on time. Any questions about these can be clarified through contacting me either through email or the "contact me" box down below.

Grading Policy

Students will be graded based on a standard curve. It will follow grades of the following:

A: 100%-90%

B: 89%-80%
C: 79%-70%
D: 69%-60%
E: 59%-0%
This being said, if your student has learning difficulties, outside complications or is just having a hard time with the subject and material, I can and will do my best to help them succeed. My goal is NOT for your child to fail. It's quite the opposite. So if there are circumstances that you or your student bring to my attention, I am willing and able to be flexible. Mental and physical health will always come above grades in my book.
